What is the Prison Ministry?

Currently we offer prison ministry services at California State Prison, Los Angeles County. We have clergy authorized to perform Wicca, Druid, and Asatru services at the prison and do so several times per year. Services are usually held on and around the sabbats and other holy days throughout the year. If you would like to donate to our prison ministry services please contact us.

We do not offer Prison Ministry services or other religious services via email or other electronic means. Also we do not have the resources to participate at other prisons at the time.

We have a few volunteers at this time who currently go “inside” to CSP-LAC, and facilitate religious services for Druids, Wiccans/Pagans, and Heathens/Asatruar. There are currently programs on three yards, for a total of about 120 inmates currently attending services. FPCAV is happy to accept donations of books to be given to Chapel libraries, and also for funding banquets for the Sabbats. Twice a year each religious group is allowed a state-sponsored banquet for which we can bring in “outside” food for services. We have been able to bring in BBQ pork or fresh fruit and vegetables to help celebrate a holiday. It makes a great difference to have natural foods instead of canned and processed ones with soy. Some of the toughest men have been moved to tears when eating a strawberry for the first time in 15 years. A simple way to really help connect with the Divine through nature in a facility made of cement and steel.
